UNLV Dept. of Film & the Short Film Archive Present Spring Flicks 2013

Las Vegas, Nev. - The College of Fine Arts’ Department of Film and the UNLV Short Film Archive are pleased to announce Spring Flicks 2013, the annual spring short film festival at UNLV. 
 
The screenings are free and open to the public. 
 
Spring Flicks is the Cannes Film Festival for UNLV film students and Alumni.  Each year, it is THE event filmmakers look forward to in order to show their creative efforts.


The goal of Spring Flicks is to promote the art and importance of the short film and to celebrate the student filmmakers who make them.

The dates of the screenings are:

Friday, April 26 from 6 pm to 11pm in CBC A-106
and
Saturday, April 27 from 6pm to 11pm CBC A-106
and
Sunday, April 28 from 6pm to 11pm CBC A-106
 
The Spring Flicks 2013 Awards Presentation will be held in CBC-A-106 starting after the final film has been screened. The Fisher Space Pen company is again awarding $3,000 in prize money to UNLV student and Alumni filmmakers.
 
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: 
 
AUDIENCE AWARD - Best Picture 
JURY AWARDS - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing and other categories are determined by the Judges.

Awards will also be given to the first and second runner-ups in each category.
