Oh, God! and Ocean’s series of films, Weintraub has exercised a
masterful touch to everything he involves himself in and an instinct to
discover exactly what audiences want to see. We are pleased and honored
to recognize Jerry Weintraub as ShoWest Producer of the Year.”
Weintraub’s work can be seen later this summer in the highly-anticipated
family mystery adventure, Nancy Drew, from Warner Bros. Pictures and
Virtual Studios. Based on characters created by Carolyn Keene, Nancy
Drew follows Nancy (Emma Roberts) as she accompanies her father, Carson
Drew (Tate Donovan), to Los Angeles on one of his business trips. While
in Los Angeles, she stumbles across evidence from a long-unsolved crime
involving the mysterious death of a beautiful movie star. Directed by
Andrew Fleming, the film is scheduled to open nationwide June 15, 2007.
In the next installment of the box office hits, Ocean’s Eleven and
Ocean’s Twelve, the cast is reunited with director Steven Soderbergh and
producer Jerry Weintraub for Ocean’s Thirteen. Reprising their roles,
the all-star cast includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy
Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Eddie
Jemison, Shaobo Qin, Carl Reiner and Elliott Gould. Joining the cast for
the new adventure are Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin. Ocean’s Thirteen is
scheduled for release on June 8, 2007 through Warner Bros. Pictures /
Village Roadshow Pictures.
Weintraub originally made his mark in the music business of the 50’s and
60’s by boosting the star power of such diverse artists as Frank
Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Led Zeppelin, the Beach Boys and Elvis
Presley. He later went on to great successes in Broadway productions and
high-profile television specials before becoming one of Hollywood’s most
respected producers following his breakout success with Robert Altman’s
critically-acclaimed Nashville, in 1975. Weintraub has since gone onto
produce over 20 feature film projects, many of which became box office
favorites. In addition to his professional achievements, Weintraub is
also well known for his extensive philanthropic and humanitarian
efforts.
