PAUL RUDD TO RECEIVE “CINEMACON® MALE STAR OF THE YEAR AWARD”

MARVEL STUDIOS’ “ANT-MAN” RELEASES IN U.S. THEATERS ON JULY 17, 2015

WASHINGTON D.C.  (April 13, 2015) – Paul Rudd will receive the “CinemaCon® Male Star of the Year Award” it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), will be held April 20 - 23, 2015 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Rudd will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, April 23, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.

“With an already proven track record of making audiences around the world laugh with his memorable roles in such films as ‘Knocked Up,’ ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” and ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin,’ Rudd will thrill audiences this summer as he stars in his first action adventure film ‘Ant-Man,” noted Neuhauser. “We could not be more excited to honor Rudd as he is sure to impress when he makes his debut as ‘Ant-Man’ in what is sure to be another one of Marvel’s most talked about movie franchises.”

Rudd can be seen later this summer starring in the next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe “Ant-Man” releasing on July 17, 2015. From Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man”  brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time when master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. “Ant-Man” also stars Evageline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I”. Harris, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris and Jordi Mollà and was directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige,p.g.a.

Rudd recently finished filming “The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, and was last seen starring in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” which grossed over $170 million worldwide. His other film credits include “Our Idiot Brother,” “This Is 40,” “Wanderlust,” “I Love You, Man” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Knocked Up,” “Clueless,” and “Cider House Rulesamong many others. Rudd has also seen success on the Broadway and West End stage starring in such productions as “Grace,” “Three Days of Rain,” and “Long Days Journey Into Night,” to name just a few.  On television, Rudd was the co-writer and co-creator of the critically acclaimed series “Party Down” on Starz and gained wide recognition with a recurring role on “Friends.” Later this year he will reprise his role in “Wet Hot American Summer,” along with the original cast for an 8-episode series to air on Netflix.
