The year 2020 was like no other; that’s for sure. With the worldwide pandemic affecting everyone and every business including the film industry, so much has changed.

For one thing, watching a movie in a local theatre was not an option for movie fans. But despite cinema closures, streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney +, etc., offered subscribers the ability to view some of the latest escapist and often thought provoking movies in the safety of their own home. In addition, I want to thank the various movie studios for supplying me with DVD screeners and coded links to digital screeners.

That said, of all the movies I watched, below is a list of the top ten films (and four honorable mentions) that drew me in the most, kept me glued to the screen and, for one reason or another, left a lasting impression.
