Washington D.C.  (January 31, 2011) –    Richard Fox, Executive Vice President, International of Warner Bros. Entertainment will receive the inaugural CinemaCon Passepartout Award,  as part of CinemaCon’s International Day, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, which will be held March 28 – 31, 2011 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. When it debuts, CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), will be the largest and most important gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world. Fox will receive his special honor at the International Day Luncheon to take place on Monday, March 28, 2011.

”The ‘CinemaCon Passepartout Award’ has been created to single out the achievements of an industry executive whose dedication and commitment to the international marketplace is unequalled and is an award that will be presented on an annual basis,” noted Neuhauser.  “Having Richard Fox be the first recipient is really our great honor. There is no one we can think of who is more deserving, or, is as highly respected and admired by so many filmmakers and executives throughout the world when it comes to international distribution and local and foreign production.  This is a wonderful opportunity for the industry to single Richard out for his pioneering efforts and leadership and we couldn’t be more delighted.”

Fox has spent his entire professional career at Warner Bros. Entertainment, having joined the company in 1975 as a management trainee working in Australia and Japan. Numerous promotions led to his current position of Executive Vice President International in 1992 where Fox manages the company’s extensive indigenous film production initiative, in which Warner Bros. Pictures serves as a producer, production partner or distributor of local language films in various countries around the world. When applicable, the Studio commits its worldwide resources to exporting these films to an international audience. In 2006, Fox was named the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of the Arts and Letters) an award created by the French government in 1957 to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to creative life in France and throughout the world. In 2008, Fox received the honorary title Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic,) which is conferred by the President of the Italian Republic on Italian and foreign citizens who have distinguished themselves through lasting contributions to Italian society.
