Film Shot on Florida West Coast to Be Featured at Fort Myers Beach Film Festival

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.--(Business Wire)--Among the films to screen at the Fort Myers Beach Film Festival is “Blind Pass,” a psychological drama/thriller starring Armand Assante. It will be shown during the Seventh Annual  Fort Myers Beach Film Festival happening on Fort Myers Beach April 24-28, 2013. Screenings of several unique independent films will take place continuously over the four-day festival at Beach Theater, 6425 Estero Blvd.

Shot entirely on location in the Sarasota/Bradenton area and Ireland, it is a journey of a young, wealthy and blind woman and her psychologist (Chris McKenna) who struggles to save her from following the tragic path of a demanding father (Armand Assante). The doctor/patient relationship reveals secrets they dare not reveal lest circumstances spin out of control. “Blind Pass” is directed by Steve Tatone, written and produced by Danielle White and Steve Tatone.

Festival events include a filmmaking workshop for adults, a children’s film festival at Bay Oaks Recreation Center, and a sunset cruise on the Gulf of Mexico, open to the public for $15 per person and complimentary for filmmakers, celebrity guests and VIP Festival Pass holders.

A VIP Festival Pass for $50.00 includes entrance to all of the events, except a workshop on Saturday, entitled “Filmmaking – From Inception to Distribution,” where tickets are $30.00. The entire schedule:

April 25 - 2:00 p.m. Ribbon Cutting at Beach Theater, 6425 Estero Blvd.

April 25 - 28 Independent Films screened all day at Beach Theater

April 26 - 5:00 p.m. Music by Deb & the Dynamics and a family movie at twilight, “Pirates – Band of Misfits” on the Beach behind the Holiday Inn, 6890 Estero Blvd.

April 27 - Kids Fest at Bay Oaks Recreation Center, 2731 Oak St. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., “Wreck it Ralph” screens at 5:30 p.m., “The Avengers” screens at 8:00 p.m.

April 27 - 11:00 a.m. "Filmmaking-From Inception to Distribution" Workshop

April 28 - 5:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony at Fish Tale Marina, dockside at 7225 Estero Blvd.
